Who I AM
I’ve always had a passion for hedgehogs since I was a little girl, my first hedgehog soft toy was bought when i was 5 and I named him Pino, and is the inspiration for this book.
In my teenage years I enjoyed writing fantastic stories which I would read to my mum. I moved to England in 2013 and I began studying early childhood education, first at college and then at university obtaining a first class degree.
This gave me the opportunity to gain experience in nurseries where I worked for three years.
Through work I was able to put my studies into practice and had a wonderful experience, where I met fantastic people who helped me grow and improve. It was right while working with children that I came up with the idea of writing a book to help children learn while having fun. When my wonderful little girl Alisea arrived she made me rediscover the simple beautiful little things in life and taught me to look at life from a different perspectives as well as appreciating the little things.
This is what I wanted to convey with my book together with an educational purpose .
The Rainbow Recipe is my first book and on each page the child can find a little scroll where Pino adds the petals collected along the way. The scroll acts as a reminder to guide the child through the different colours making the story easier to follow and to remember.
The bright colours and illustrations in the center of the page are designed to help the child to concentrate and maintain focus. This facilitates learning because they are able to make a connection between the image and what is being read.
